The Minority Fellows Program is a fellowship competition for individuals from underrepresented backgrounds ing to or in the early stages of doctoral programs in political science. The MFP was established in 1969 to increase the number of minority scholars in the discipline. Each year, APSA awards between 12-14 funded fellowships in the amount of $4,000.

American Political Science Association DIVERSITY Minority Fellowship Program

Environmental Science Fellowship

Fellowships are awarded to selected students for a period of anywhere from one to up to four years. Typically a fellowship provides a stipend and a fee remission for an academic year. Fellowship recipients must be enrolled for a minimum of eight credit hours per semester. The fellowship supports doctoral students with outstanding academic achievement doing dissertation research in energy or environmental policy in northeast Asia and those who intend to pursue a career in teaching and research activities. A merit-based award available to minority incoming doctoral students consisting of a one-year fellowship and two years of departmental graduate assistantship. A needs-based fellowship award for under-represented minority masters and doctoral students.

Graduate and Post-Doctoral Fellowship and Award Opportunities

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program The National Science Foundation aims to ensure the vitality of the human resource base of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the United States and to reinforce its diversity by offering approximately 1,654 graduate fellowships in this competition pending availability of funds. National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship The fellowship program is sponsored by the Army Research Office, Office of Naval Research, Air Force Office of Scientific Research and the DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program This program is intended for the students.S. citizens at or near the beginning of their graduate studies in science and or engineering programs.

UA Political Science PhD Student Wins 1 of 23 National Fellowships Arts Sciences

The MFP was established in 1969 to increase the number of minority scholars in the discipline. Each year APSA awards up to 12 funded fellowships in the amount of $4,000 for the fall cycle and 23 awards ranging between $500-$1,000 for the spring cycle, to support doctoral degree expenses.

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program provides three-year graduate research fellowships in science, mathematics, and engineering, including Women in Engineering and Computer and Information Science awards. Fellowships are intended for individuals in the early stages of their graduate study at any appropriate, accredited, non-profit the students.S. institution or appropriate international institution of higher education offering advanced degrees in science, mathematics, or engineering is considered eligible. Fellowships cannot be held or combined concurrently with other federal or government-funded fellowships Graduate students enrolled in a degree-granting graduate program are limited to only one application to the GRFP, submitted in the first year or at the beginning of the second year of their degree program.

UT College of Liberal Arts

A Title VI grant from the the students.S. Education allows LLILAS Benson to offer fellowships to individuals who teach at community colleges and minority-serving institutions in the United States.

GEM Fellowships

Two options are available: 1) engineering, which offers doctoral fellowships to underrepresented minority students who have received admittance into a PhD program directly from a bachelor’s degree program; and 2) science, which aims to increase the number of minority students pursuing doctoral degrees in the natural sciences
