Engineering Visionary Scholarship Initiative

Five years ago, Illinois Engineering, in partnership with The Grainger Foundation, launched an ambitious initiative to raise $100 million in endowment support with a special emphasis on unrestricted scholarships. The Engineering Visionary Scholarship Initiative has since paved the way for hundreds of deserving students to make their dreams of becoming an engineer a reality. With the help of their gift, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is one step closer to establishing large, renewable scholarships to help students choose Illinois over a competing offer, and to help make college affordable for students and their families.

Carolina launches new scholarship fund for military-affiliated students

A $2 million donation from the University of North Carolina General Alumni Association will establish an endowed scholarship fund to help qualified military-affiliated students graduate from Carolina debt-free. Military-affiliated students eligible for the Carolina Covenant scholarship program will also be eligible for the Lieutenant Colonel Bernard W. Ferris Futures Scholarship Challenge

Endowments not fully funded by June 30, 2025 will be re-directed into a general scholarship endowment. Eligible gifts and pledges will commit match funding in the order received up to $3 million per year for six years. In order to ensure that a wide audience of prospective donors has the opportunity to double the power of their contributions, the university will encourage scholarship donors at the $500,000-level and over to consider matching challenges of their own to foster giving to particular programs. Program Gifts of at least $1,000 annually to established scholarship endowments will be matched. Criteria from existing annual scholarships will be honored when establishing an endowed scholarship.

Scholarships

The majority of scholarships are awarded between December and February of each admission cycle or until the scholarship funds are exhausted. The University will provide up to $1,500 — to be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Veterans Affairs for a maximum grant of $3,000 for as many as 15 veterans or eligible dependents. To ensure the award of the Scholarship, recipients must accept their scholarship award and pay the two $500 seat deposits by the required dates. The State of Florida will match every dollar applicant give to the USF First Generation Scholarship Fund.

We Believe

This is the largest scholarship dedicated solely to the Curb College and the first and only scholarship at Belmont focused on the AET program. They chose to endow a scholarship and promote Belmont’s College of Music Business because they know it can encourage others to do the same.

Patriot Golf Classic Scholarship

The Patriot Golf Classic is an annual fundraiser that benefits UT Tyler’s scholarship program at its campuses in Tyler, Longview, Palestine, and Houston. The Patriot Golf Classic scholarship can be used towards tuition and fees at UT Tyler only. The Patriot Golf Classic Current Use scholarship will only be awarded once. Considerations for the scholarship include academic achievement, personal achievement, future goals, and connection to UT Tyler.

Gates Millennium Scholars Program

The partnership with UNCF the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation established the program in established in 1999, as a 1.6 billion dollar initiative funded grant. The approach to do this work is done in three ways: By awarding than 10,000 students scholarships, worth than $100 million, each year. The six-year graduation rate for UNCF African American scholarship recipients is 70 percent.

Business Management

This endowment is intended to support student scholarship through subsidy and world mission experience. Yaeger Memorial Scholarship, this fund was established by the family of Derrill E. Scholarships will be awarded to full time Business majors committed to pursuing a career in law, currently in their junior or senior year with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. La Sierra University also offers other institutional and privately donated scholarships to students.
