OAKES ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP: Amount varies Recipients must be well-rounded full-time students majoring in any discipline in the College of Business Administration be a junior or senior, having completed at least .0 hours of coursework prior to the semester that the scholarship is received and demonstrate financial need. If no students from these counties qualify for the scholarship, a student from central Texas may be considered.

Institute for Financial Services Analytics

The Institute for Financial Services Analytics is at the intersection of industry and education, forming and informing the emerging field of financial services analytics. Financial services analytics typically focuses on the collection and analysis of large datasets in an effort to offer improvements to business operations, customer service, and risk management. The university at the Institute, including the university Ph.D. students, tackle many different data challenges of the financial services industry. The Ph.D. in financial services analytics is a multi-disciplinary program with a scientific curriculum that builds upon the research and educational strengths of Lerner College and the College of Engineering.

Assistantships

Psychology Program Research Assistant 2 of 4 Psychology Counseling Reports to Dr. Ed Crawley The Research Assistant will be involved in all aspects of the research process from conducting library searches, to experimental design, data collection and analysis, public presentation of results, and grant writing. The Graduate Assistant will be part of various grant teams and involved in data gathering and analysis data management and development of written materials, including reports. Some of the tasks that the graduate assistant will conduct include assisting with the scheduling of appointments reviewing student alumni resumes and cover letters data collection and analysis researching new career industry trends presenting valuable career specific information conducting mock interviews and any other assigned tasks.

Online Master’s Degree in Financial Management Concentration in Investment Analysis

Students will gain in-depth knowledge of investment strategies, asset valuation, and investment management, and will be prepared to excel at a variety of careers in finance involving analysis and valuation of financial assets as well as risk management. The ability to value a firm using either a constant growth or multistage dividend discount model and the price earnings ratio model the ability to analyze a firm using the basic financial statements to perform ratio analysis. The Master of Science in Financial Management concentration in Investment Analysis consists of ten required online courses Introduction to the concepts, methods, and problems of financial and managerial accounting. Includes data accumulation, accounting principles, financial statement analysis, measurement and disclosure issues, cost analysis, budgeting and control, production costs, and standard costs.

MS in Financial Management—Investment Analysis

The Investment Analysis concentration will provide applicant with in-depth knowledge of investment strategies, asset valuation, and investment management, preparing applicant to excel at a variety of careers in finance involving analysis and valuation of financial assets as well as risk management. The ability to value a firm using either a constant growth or multistage dividend discount model and the price earnings ratio model the ability to analyze a firm using the basic financial statements to perform ratio analysis. Applicant can also earn the master’s in Financial Management with a concentration in Investment Analysis by completing the Graduate Certificate in Corporate Finance and the Graduate Certificate in Investment Analysis, plus two courses selected from the MSFM general electives.

Lead research and practice in the area of financial services analytics. Its impact is especially profound in the financial services industry, where abundant data comes from many sources. Financial services analytics is the science of quantitative models and technologies designed for the financial services industry. The financial services analytics program at the University of Delaware is the first of its kind, developing fundamental FSAN theories, creating new data-driven decision-making tools and training researchers and professionals. Corporate-sponsored internships offer applicant the opportunity to analytics tools to real-world challenges on teams in wealth management, machine learning, data architecture, investment banking, global finance and business management. FSAN graduates find employment in positions such as data analyst, data scientist and financial analyst.
