Proposal Development

This program supports research and teaching in the humanities and social sciences. At the conclusion of the career development period the candidates are expected to demonstrate they can successfully compete for research funding in the environmental health sciences. Endowed Scholarships

The Arnet Family Scholarship in Communication Studies recognizes students who have made outstanding contributions to communication and debate activities, and or who show exceptional promise of future contribution. The Bolen Scholarship is available to a student enrolled in a course of study leading to a Bachelor of Science in Education in one of the disciplines in the College of Science and Technology. This scholarship shall be awarded to student in their junior year majoring in mathematics, or graduate student in the College of Science and Mathematics, with a minimum.3.0 GPA. This scholarship is automatically renewable as long as the recipient maintains a.2.5 GPA and remains in the field of math or science.

Travel Grants Recipients 2014-2015

Emily Chapin, Thomas Benns, Lauren Smith, Kerry Anderson, Joseph Wieland, Brian Schwenk, and Megan Thurston received a grant to present Assembling Inquiry-Based Lesson Plans with Resources at the Virginia Association of Science Teachers Professional Development Institute in Roanoke, VA.

Centers and Center Grants

The Neuroscience graduate students are invited to join a series of clinical video conferences organized at Wesley Woods every other week by the movement disorders group in the Neurology Department to gain some exposure to the clinical features and complex symptomatology of various movement disorders.
