National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship The NDSEG fellowship provides three years of full tuition support and monthly stipends. Student and Postdoc Prizes and Fellowships

Each year the Courant Institute awards several prizes and fellowships to recognize exceptional promise and accomplishment at various levels. This fellowship is awarded each year to an outstanding Mathematics PhD student. The Joann and Stanley Benson Fellowship recognizes outstanding performance by a Computer Science Master student. This award honors the memory of Henning Biermann, a brilliant and much-loved Ph.D. student whose dedication to teaching, mentoring, and service enriched academic and extracurricular life for everyone in the department. The Paul Garabedian Fellowship is awarded each year to an outstanding PhD student. This prize is awarded for outstanding performance and promise as a graduate student. Keller Postdoctoral Fellowship honors the memory of the university colleague Joe Keller.

2016 Mathematical Sciences Publications and Grants

In this program, the university aim to promote a vigorous collaboration across disciplines and devise new approaches and novel mathematics to address these problems of culture analytics, by bringing together leading scholars in the social sciences and humanities with those in applied mathematics, engineering, and computer science. The applications of CSP range from imaging, analog-to-information conversion and radar to geophysical data analysis and computational biology The Sloan Research Fellowships seek to stimulate fundamental research by early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise.

Anthropology

Admission and financial aid are competitive. These students will be generously funded with a Graduate Teaching or Research Assistantship and a University Tuition Scholarship for five years. University Tuition Scholarships are service-free awards that pay all or part of tuition costs. The following graduate awards are normally supplemented by a full University Tuition Scholarship, which usually includes student health insurance coverage: University Fellowships, Graduate Teaching Assistantships, Graduate Research Assistantships, Traineeships, and Teacher Training Awards. The Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships provide the university anthropology graduate students with essential training in pedagogy, research, and the ethical practices of the university discipline. Transfer credits may reduce the number of semesters of funding.

Pierre Colas Memorial Fellowship Resources Anthropology

The Fellowship supports two indigenous students from Latin America, so they may pursue their Ph.D. in anthropology. The Fellowship provides tuition, a generous annual stipend, and health insurance for six years. Vanderbilt University has been fortunate to have two excellent scholars from Guatemala as the Pierre Colas Memorial Fellows: Carmelina Espantzay Serech and Iyaxel Cjoti Ren. Pierre, also known as Robbie, was a scholar of tremendous range. A prolific scholar, Pierre published 3 books and dozens of articles. Pierre was a passionate scholar; a stalwart friend; and an exceptional human being. Dillehay has received a $510,000 grant from FONDYCYT for a four year project on Ruta de Oro: Minas Inkas/Espanoles en los Andes. Eberl receives grant to study the cultural identity of Q’eqchi’ Maya.
