Financial Aid for M.A. and Ph.D. Graduate Students Roger Thayer Stone Center For Latin
Stone Center Summer Research Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis for research projects in Latin America. Graduate students from any discipline may as long as their research has a Latin American focus. With funding for the the students.S. Education’s Title VI program, the Stone Center for Latin American Studies is able to offer a special fellowship program to a select group of students. There are awards available for both the academic year as part of the regular admissions process and for summer intensive language study for currently enrolled graduate students.
Outside Agency Scholarships
Since MALDEF’s founding, the civil rights organization has furthered its mission to advance Latino civil rights by awarding scholarships to law students who similarly seek to advance Latino civil rights through their careers. Applicants are evaluated based on four main factors: 1) personal background and financial need 2) academic and extracurricular achievement 3) demonstrated commitment to serving the Latino community, shown through academic, extracurricular, or professional record of service and 4) future plans to advance the rights of Latinos. Finnish and American law students are eligible for an award from the P.J.C. Lindfors Legal Studies Fund administered by FFN.

Funding For Students
US Education Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships provide $10,000 in tuition and a $5,000 stipend for students in any discipline for intensive language study at Stanford during the academic year. The Center for Latin American Studies invites proposals for Stanford graduate students to attend and present on topics related to Latin America at academic conferences.
College Scholarships Awards
The Center for Latino Studies endeavors to hold a scholarship competition once per year, as funds permit. The goal of this scholarship is to reduce the financial burden of earning a degree through UHD, and simultaneously to encourage broad student engagement with contemporary and historic issues facing Latino communities. Any degree-seeking UHD student is eligible to for the Center for Latino Studies scholarship. The Center for Latino Studies will identify a particular theme to structure each scholarship competition.

NWSA Graduate Scholarships in Lesbian Studies This award provides financial assistance to graduate students doing a Master’s thesis or Ph.D. dissertation research in lesbian studies. Winners receive $1,000 scholarships for study in queer theory or a related field such as queer medical, legal, or social issues. Ric Ulrich and Chuck Pischke Scholarship for candidates intending studies that involve visual arts and design. Daniella Altfeld no Scholarship for Latino Latina youth under age 25 with a preference for students involved in athletics. Scholarships for African American students, Hispanic and Latino students, Native American students, Asian and Pacific Islander students, Arab American students, Undocumented students, First Generation Students, and LGBTQIA students.

This scholarship is merit based and may be used for a study abroad program lasting a full academic year. University-endowed scholarship funds can only be used to participate in study abroad programs sponsored by the University of Richmond.

Education grant that provides graduate and fellowships for students to pursue intensive training in modern languages and related area or international studies. A limited number of awards may be provided to graduate students for the advanced study of Spanish.
