Holzheimer Memorial Student Scholarship for Economic Development Planning

The paper, supervised by Dr. Henry Renski, examines the prevalence of incentive awards by NYCEDC to businesses in the City established Industrial Business Zones, and concludes that economic development incentive awards to non-industrial businesses are working at cross-purposes with the industrial preservation goals of the land use policy. The Economic Development Division annually solicits applications for the Holzheimer Memorial Student Scholarship for Economic Development Planning. The $2,000 award is a scholarship provided by the APA Economic Development Division. The authors will share a $1,000 scholarship from the Economic Development Division and the full paper will be published in a future division newsletter.

Applied Economics Financial Management or Investments

MS in Applied Economics and Certificate in Financial Management or in Investments. Tuition for the MS in Applied Economics portion of the program is $4,724 per course. This dual program offers students to the opportunity to earn both the MS Degree in Applied Economics and a Graduate Certificate in Financial Management or in Investments for a total of 15 courses, eight at Applied Economics and seven at Carey.

The results from the project can be broadly applied to a number of important areas of institutional planning and administration of higher education that include enrollment management, student retention, financial aid administration, and student graduation time prediction. The University and WEAI attract research scholars from Kyoto Institute of Economic Research, Japan Economic Association and international scholars from around the world.

UM-Flint Scholarship Summaries

Economics Scholarship Fund: For Economics majors with a 3.5 GPA or better, and who have completed at least 12 credit hours of Economics classes at UM-Flint. Fesmire, Chieko String Instrument Scholarship: Applicants must be full-time applied music student pursuing an interest in string music with preference given to students studying violin. Music Department Scholarships: For students with a minimum 3.0 GPA who have received no grade in applied music lower than a B and who participate in a large performance group appropriate to their major instrument. Scholarship is to be awarded only for tuition, fees, books, and or required supplies and will be applied directly to the students tuition account. Scholarships will be applied directly to the recipients' tuition account.

The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund aids people active in movements for social and economic justice. Through its Leadership Scholarship Program, The Fund for American Studies provides at least 25 full scholarships to aid students in participating in summer institutes focusing the following subject areas: Public Policy Economics, International Affairs, Journalism Communication, Business Government Affairs, and Community Leadership Service. Pays for costs of education plus a generous personal stipend for graduate study in the applied physical sciences at 36 select universities. This fellowship is available to the students.S. citizens and international students and professionals.The 100 annual fellowships are intended for exceptionally qualified individuals with demonstrated interest in one or of the following areas: international, global, or area studies international politics and economics peace and security studies and or conflict resolution.

Computer Science Department

Jackson Scholarship Award for Extraordinary Achievement will be awarded to a student enrolled in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences who exemplifies the attributes associated with Rahsaan, a talented student in Electrical Engineering who passed away in 1998, after a long and brave battle with a debilitating illness. CSEMS is a Scholarship and Academic Support Program funded by the National Science Foundation and administered by Stony Brook University College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Eligibility for scholarship support is based on economic need as determined by a student eligibility to receive federal scholarship support. The program provides a comprehensive academic support and scholarship program for bachelor degree candidates in Stony Brook University College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Applied Financial Economics M.S.

Saint Louis University Master of Science in applied financial economics at the Richard A. Saint Louis University Master of Science in applied financial economics is a quantitative-based, applied program that focuses on analysis and forecasting of financial variables such as interest rates, stock returns and their effects on financial markets. SLU Master of Science in applied financial economics program helps students develop strong ethical, technical and professional skills, and provides in-depth expertise in economics and finance. Graduates of the applied financial economics program will be qualified for a range of analysis-related jobs.
