Financial Aid

Financial aid is available for outstanding applicants for the Ph.D. in Statistical Science and for the Ph.D. in Biostatistics. Ph.D. students in the Biostatistics Ph.D. program are funded on Fellowships for their first two years. Additionally, since the funding is for the calendar year, the students are involved in research projects either in UTSW labs, supporting SMU or UTSW statistics biostatistics researchers, or other approved activities.

The Department of Biostatistics provides full financial aid for approximately 55 PhD students per year.

College of Public Health Resources

The college builds on a rich tradition of public health teaching, research, and service at the university that dates back to 1885. Near the student space are located four teaching assistant offices, a student services area including graduate coordinator and recruitment services, and distance learning and audio visual services. The teaching space in the new building comprises eight classrooms and two computer classrooms. The CPH has identified three Areas of Collective Excellence in which the university excel in interdisciplinary and collaborative research, teaching, and service: Rural Health, Comparative Effectiveness Research, and Community Engagement. Graduates are provided advanced training leading to master’s and doctoral degrees that prepare students for leadership roles in various health care, research, and academic settings.

Fellowships Pediatrics

The university goal is to develop outstanding academic pediatric subspecialists who demonstrate leadership in clinical medicine, teaching skills, critical thinking and scholarship. All fellowship programs provide opportunities for fellows to train in laboratories in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, collaborating basic science or other clinical departments at Yale. The National Clinician Scholars Program offers additional Training in Clinical Epidemiology.
