Fellowship Opportunities Smithsonian Fellowships and Internships

The Engen Conservation Fellowship is a competitive twelve month in-residence fellowship for recent Master’s graduates in conservation intended to introduce fellows to a wide range of composite objects, metals, organic materials and painted surfaces. Mellon fellowships are intended to cultivate practical skills as well as foster a solid understanding of the contexts of material culture, the philosophies of conservation at the NMAI, and the ethics of the conservation profession. Mellon fellowships involve work on the Conservation Office’s major projects and research related to projects and collections.

Natural Sciences Scholarships

Everson Scholarship.For a full-time student who has been admitted to the chemistry or biology program, and has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

List of Scholarships

One or awards to students enrolled in the Pre-Allied Health Program or an or graduate student enrolled in an entry level degree in Allied Health Sciences. Based on demonstrated academic achievement, and financial need. Preference will be given to current students or recent graduates of ’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. One or scholarships to students in the Physical Therapy Program. Students must be in the second semester of their junior year , be in good academic standing, demonstrate financial need, and completing a plan of study in production agriculture and or agri-business. Scholarship List

Each year, Warnell provides several renewable scholarships to incoming professional students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership. The number of scholarships awarded varies each year, but they are a direct result of annual gifts to the Forestry Fund. The purpose of this fund is to provide to either an or graduate student who has demonstrated interest in developing leadership skills or an entrepreneurial spirit. This award is given annually to an outstanding graduate student studying forest business. The Burgin Timberland Endowed Scholarship provides support for an second year professional student in Forestry. This fellowship will support an outstanding Warnell graduate student. This scholarship provides assistance to graduate students in Warnell who will be majoring in Biometrics. The Davis-Hollcroft Family Forestry Scholarship provides support for an student studying forestry.

Environmental Fellowship The Bullitt Foundation

This prize is intended for exceptional individuals from underrepresented communities who possess a capacity for leadership and who show exceptional scholarship. Establishment of this fellowship is based on the understanding that if America is ever again to hope for a leadership role on global and environmental issues, it must produce environmental leaders who resemble a majority of the world’s inhabitants. In establishing the Environmental Leadership Fellowship, the University of Pittsburgh-Pittsburgh Campus is providing more opportunity and support for such leadership to emerge. Juan Mario Michan, a postgraduate student at the University of British Columbia, was selected to receive the third annual Priscilla Bullitt Collins Environmental Fellowship.

Center for International Education

The scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding juniors or seniors with plans to pursue graduate studies and or a career in wildlife or the field of conservation biology preference is given to students pursuing avian conservation.
