Funding Opportunities

Applications to address these issues are encouraged across a broad range of methodological approaches including basic science, clinical, epidemiological, and health services research to define the extent of the problem of prescription drug abuse, to characterize this problem in terms of classes of drugs abused and combinations of drug types, etiology of abuse, and populations most affected Purpose: The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement is to support innovative exploratory and developmental research to understand uniquely associated factors that contribute to health disparities or health advantages among the students.S. immigrant populations. This FOA utilizes the Exploratory Developmental Grant mechanism, which supports investigation of novel scientific ideas or new model systems, tools, or technologies that have the potential for significant impact on biomedical or biobehavioral research.

Funding Opportunities for Postdoctoral Fellows

Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Humanities Social Sciences. Georgetown University Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship for the Study of Slavery. University of Toronto Petro Jacyk Postdoctoral Fellowship for the Study of the Ukraine. Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Natural and Biomedical Sciences. Goal is to foster early-career academics by offering research funding and professional development training, and to create a bridge between the academic and entrepreneurship communities that furthers collaboration, partnerships, innovation and employment. The American Cancer Society invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships that support researchers who have received the PhD for training leading to an independent career in cancer research.

Graduate

All students admitted to the Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior Genome, Cell, and Developmental Biology and Microbiology graduate programs receive some form of stipend to cover living expenses during the academic year and during the summer , as well as fee remission support that covers all tuition expenses and virtually all fees.

Wilbur V.Harlan Research Fellowship

Each year, select biology majors earn merit-based scholarships supported by the Wilbur V. Past Harlan scholars have conducted research to explore the role of fungal species interactions in forest ecosystems, examined the developmental pattern of tissues in the fish head and their function in the adult organism and applied CRISPR gene editing methods to butterfly wing patterns. Harlan Research Fellowship is available to students who have completed their first, sopho or junior year at GW and declared a biology major.

Public Impact Fellows

This Public Impact Distinguished Fellowship will enable me to continue engaging in empirical research that is not just theoretically useful, but is also policy relevant and practically useful. Currently, Rachel serves as the Graduate Association of Biomedical Engineering Students president connecting local industry to BME graduate students. This fellowship will provide me with protected research time necessary to best study climate change and its impact on the public health disease known as Valley Fever. Outside of research, Sarah has a strong passion for promoting effective dialogue between scientists and the public, and is the president of Brews and Brains, a graduate student science communication group.
