Funding for graduate studies
Graduate students in Entomology generally do not pay their own tuition out of pocket. A number of the university current students are supported by three-year grants from the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program Once students are admitted to the program and the first year of funding is identified, the Field of Entomology provides a guarantee of support for those students. The Field of Entomology is awarded Recruitment Fellowships each year, available to incoming Ph.D. students only. All PhD students in the graduate field of entomology are eligible to .
Although paid teaching assistant appointments are not generally available in Entomology, there are many opportunities on campus to secure such a position. The UW Entomology is pleased to offer four fellowships to students. This award is given to a graduate student directly involved with Biological Control Research in the UW-Madison Entomology. This award was established by the Entomology Graduate Student Association in memory of Karl Kinney.

The Gahan Fellowship is intended to stimulate excellence in graduate research in the Entomology.
The Delaware Agricultural Crop Protection Industry Scholarship Fund Annual scholarship awarded to one or students matriculated in the College of Agriculture Natural Resources whose majors involve them in production agriculture research in the areas of crop production, plant physiology, weed management, plant pathology, and entomology. Bray Structural Entomology Scholarship Annual scholarship awarded to a student matriculated in the College of Agriculture Natural Resources in the Entomology Wildlife Ecology with a domestic pest control area of interest.

The Entomology awards both and graduate scholarships to eligible students interested in majoring in the university degree programs. Scholarships are given during the annual Entomology Student Recognition Banquet.
Medical Engineering and Medical Physics Program
Barr Fellowship was established in memory of Dr. Barr’s many contributions to the field of medical entomology and tropical medicine. The Dr. Lloyd and Mae Rozeboom Scholarship was created from the Lloyd Rozeboom Lectureship in Medical Entomology.

Callie, a University Scholar from Canyon, Texas, is concentrating in neuroscience and communication sciences and disorders. As a University Scholar, Carolyn studies biochemistry, sociology, and political science on the pre-medicine track. A University Scholar, Kailey studies international relations and French and is completing the pre-medicine program. Jana, a University Scholar from Wichita, Kansas, studies biology and Spanish at Baylor. Cara studies political science and history as a University Scholar and is also a pre-law student. Kayal, a University Scholar from Houston, studies political science and medical humanities at Baylor. Michaela is completing the interdisciplinary core curriculum of the BIC and concentrating in international studies and Spanish as a University Scholar.
