Dr. Harold Barnhart has been, and continues to be, a great influence to many of the Environmental Health Science alumni. This fund provides scholarship support to student populations that are underrepresented within the Environmental Health Science. Dr. Manning spent 20 years inspiring, teaching and mentoring environmental health student interns and provided future environmental health scientists with hands-on training that would allow them to excel in their chosen field. This scholarship, supported by the Georgia Environmental Health Association , covers all expenses needed to attend the GEHA Annual Educational Conference, and includes a one-year paid membership to GEHA.

Maintain and Enrich Resource Infrastructure for Existing Environmental Epidemiology Cohorts The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement is to solicit grant applications that propose to: support the maintenance of existing Environmental Epidemiology Cohorts and to enrich research infrastructure to improve scientific activities and resource sharing with the broader scientific communities. The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement is to support multilevel, transdisciplinary population health interventions that target underlying social, economic, and environmental conditions in an effort to improve health outcomes. State-Based Public Health Laboratory Biomonitoring Programs The purpose of this funding is to increase the capability and capacity of state public health laboratories to conduct high-quality biomonitoring science and assess human exposure to environmental chemicals within their jurisdictions.

Other Public Interest Fellowship Opportunities

PERC is seeking graduate or law students who are interested in natural resources and environmental issues and who show potential for research and writing in these areas. Participants will have the opportunity to spend 3 months with experts in the free market environmentalism movement and mentored by internationally known scholars who are working on natural resource and environmental research topics themselves. The Section’s Environmental Law Fellowship was created to provide opportunities for law students to work in governmental and public-interest environmental law organizations in order to develop their interests and skills in the field of environmental law.

Roselyn Lindheim Scholarship in Environmental Design and Public Health Graduates students are encouraged to for the Roselyn Lindheim Award in Environmental Design and Public Health. This opportunity supports graduate students of the Environmental Health Sciences program. This opportunity supports graduate students of the Biostatistics, Environmental Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Health Social Behavior, Health Policy Management, Infectious Diseases, and Public Health Nutrition programs.

The Carolyn Harper Fund and Fellowship

Each year the Resource Economics has honored one or two graduate students who best exemplify the qualities that Carolyn Harper had in such abundance: scholarly achievement, concern for social and environmental issues, and racial and gender justice. A former Commonwealth Scholar, Colin wrote a research proposal, subsequently funded by a federal agency to study environmental issues in the offshore islands of Thailand, which are experiencing massive growth in tourism.

Environmental Fellowship The Bullitt Foundation

Establishment of this fellowship is based on the understanding that if America is ever again to hope for a leadership role on global and environmental issues, it must produce environmental leaders who resemble a majority of the world’s inhabitants. In establishing the Environmental Leadership Fellowship, the University of Pittsburgh-Pittsburgh Campus is providing more opportunity and support for such leadership to emerge. Juan Mario Michan, a postgraduate student at the University of British Columbia, was selected to receive the third annual Priscilla Bullitt Collins Environmental Fellowship.

The the students.S. Environmental Protection Agency is offering Greater Research Opportunities Graduate Fellowships for master’s and doctoral level students in environmentally related fields of study. In recognition of the global nature of environmental challenges and the need to pool the resources of many nations to solve environmental problems, EPA has joined with the United Kingdom’s Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission, which has been administering the esteemed Marshall Scholarship since 1953.

Brown and Caldwell offers a scholarship designed to encourage and support students who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation that have a desire to improve the university world by developing their skills and knowledge in preparation for a career in the environmental profession. A $5,000 GLBTQ Scholarship to support students who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning, who are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession. A $5,000 Women in Leadership Scholarship to support female students that are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession. The Larson Aquatic Research Support scholarship provides support for doctoral and masters students interested in careers in the fields of corrosion control, treatment and distribution of domestic and industrial water supplies, aquatic chemistry, and or environmental chemistry.
