Derby Endowment Fund provides scholarships to sopho students who are candidates for degrees in Chemistry, Textile Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering. Hook Chemistry Endowment provides scholarships in chemistry. The Scattergood Chemistry Scholarship Endowment provides find for student awards, scholarships, student activities, and an annual symposium. The William Segall Endowment Fund provides scholarships preferably for chemistry students but available for other majors as well. Sherburne Memorial Scholarship Endowment provides scholarships to students who are pursuing a degree in chemistry. Tripathy Memorial Endowed Fellowship Fund provides fellowships to support Ph.D. candidates in their final year of research in the broad areas of materials science and polymer science.

They also earn hours of chemistry credit through either San Jose State University or SUNY-Stony Brook. A wide variety of projects are offered, including research in structural biology, biophysics, proteomics, protein and nucleic acid chemistry, membrane biochemistry, and molecular biology.All student participants will receive a stipend and housing, and reasonable travel costs will be covered.

Awards Scholarships A S Advising

As a student in the College of Arts and Sciences, there are a number of awards, prizes, and scholarships available to applicant. A group of eight to twelve academically outstanding graduating seniors are designated each year as Syracuse University Scholars. The Selection Committee, appointed by the Senate Committee on Academic Affairs, will select eight to twelve Syracuse University Scholars from among the candidates. It will also select one of the University Scholars to give a Commencement address. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of distinguished academic work, citizenship, and service to community. Rossman, Jr. Scholarships in the Humanities. Rossman Jr. Scholarships in the Humanities honor a distinguished former administrator of Syracuse University. Scholarships will be awarded within the Guidelines, Procedures and Responsibilities specified for the program.

Student Research Awards

Grants, ranging in value from $500-$4,000, are intended to cover the cost of supplies or research materials, travel, and other expenses associated with completion of a thesis or dissertation.

Graduate Funding Opportunities Chemistry

Fellowships support graduate students in astronomy, chemistry, computer science, geology, materials science, mathematical sciences, physics, and their subdisciplines, and related engineering fields: chemical, computer, electrical, environmental, mechanical.

Whitely Graduate Fellowship in Material Sciences The Whitely Graduate Fellowship is awarded to graduate students in chemistry or physics who conduct research in material sciences.

The Larson Aquatic Research Support scholarship provides support for doctoral and masters students interested in careers in the fields of corrosion control, treatment and distribution of domestic and industrial water supplies, aquatic chemistry, and or environmental chemistry. The Energy National Nuclear Security Administration Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship Program provides opportunities to students pursuing a Ph.D. in areas such as high-energy density physics, low-energy nuclear science, or properties of materials under extreme conditions. Scholarships and Awards in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science or Any Other Technical Discipline of Relevance to the Rubber Industry.


This scholarship provides funds that may be used for education related expenses, including but not limited to tuition, books, fees, and room and board for students pursuing or furthering a degree in the Chemistry at UA Little Rock. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time or part-time student majoring in Chemistry. Decker, Dr. Gerald L., Scholarship: to be awarded equally to two chemistry majors with highest academic record at close of junior year established by Mrs. Johnson, Arndt J., Endowed Scholarship: preference given to descendants of Arndt Johnson if none then available to needy chemistry students. Johnson, Cal and Vera, Scholarship: awarded annually for worthy and needy students with preference for those entering the fields of education, nursing, or chemistry. Johnson, Calvin Keith and Connie, Scholarship: awarded to students majoring in chemistry. Logan, Richard B., Scholarship: available to junior or senior chemistry majors.
