Project Description: The NSF Research Traineeship program is designed to encourage the development and implementation of bold, new, and potentially transformative models for science, technology, engineering and mathematics graduate education training. The NRT program seeks proposals that explore ways for graduate students in research-based master and doctoral degree programs to develop the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to pursue a range of STEM careers. The program is dedicated to effective training of STEM graduate students in high priority interdisciplinary or convergent research areas, through the use of a comprehensive traineeship model that is innovative, evidence-based, and aligned with changing workforce and research needs.

Neonatal fellowship program in pediatrics

Not all of the university graduates have chosen to pursue full-time academic careers, but they are uniformly strengthened by the training experiences, tools and teaching they received for whatever professional path they chose. Applying for grants is taught and encouraged. The Neonatology Fellowship program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Applications from women and minorities are encouraged.

Some funds for travel are provided by a Personal Expense Account, but fellows are strongly encouraged to submit case reports and or research data in order to apply for travel grants. The Allergy Immunology Fellowship Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education This fellowship program participates in the National Residency Match Program and the Electronic Residency Application Service Application to the fellowship program is highly competitive. The NSF ADVANCE program provides grants to enhance the systemic factors that support equity and inclusion and to mitigate the systemic factors that create inequities in the academic profession and workplaces.
