The Jerry and Krishna Walker Scholarship is awarded to support students from traditionally underrepresented minority groups pursing a graduate degree in the Center for Information and Communication Sciences. The Freshman Achievement Scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable award from the Journalism and funded by alumni and general scholarship gifts. The Michael Smith Scholarship is a renewable scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman journalism major with an academic index of 3.0 or higher, or transfer student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Scholarship amounts vary each year, but generally award between $500-$3.000 per scholarship. Recipients of this one-year scholarship must be current graduate students in the department’s public relations program.

Bennett Scholarship is awarded to a junior, senior, or graduate student at the University of Wyoming majoring in Political Science The prize is supported by an endowment created by William Jennings Bryan, as executer of the estate of Philo S. Simpson to foster the study of political science, the department is able to offer several awards and scholarships for and graduate students to further, foster, and advance education and learning in the field of political science at the University of Wyoming. The scholarship is in the amount of resident tuition for two semesters One $500 award will be given for the most Outstanding Graduate Paper written for a 5000-level Political Science course during the previous calendar year , as selected by the Simpson Scholarship Committee.

JAMES DRODDY FRESHMAN SCHOLAR SCHOLARSHIP This scholarship will be awarded a student accepted into the Freshman Scholars Program each fall.
In order to ensure that applicant receive maximum scholarship consideration, review the university scholarship information carefully and pay attention to all deadlines. The university scholarships include both need-based and merit-based awards, and applicant’ll apply for both through Scholarship Central. If the student is a Life or Eagle Scout, a member of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, or has worked than one summer at Camp Ottari, the scholarship is increased by $500. This scholarship has two application periods: October 1 to November 1 for winter and spring programs, and February 1 to March 1 for summer and fall programs.
Master’s and Ph.D. students receiving scholarship-only awards may have a portion or all of their tuition covered in a given semester or year. Ph.D. students are required to be enrolled full time as a condition of their scholarship award. Master’s students should verify with their program the number of credit hours required as a condition of their scholarship award and maintain that enrollment status. May receive a scholarship for a language course in Session 1 AND may receive a scholarship for a language course in Session 2. If a course straddles sessions, the scholarship will be enough to cover the cost of that 1 course. If students have already pre-registered for a language course, they must communicate a scholarship request to the program immediately.
