National Merit Semifinalist Finalist Scholarships
Students nable to take the ACT or SAT may submit the General Scholarship Application to be reviewed holistically for scholarship consideration. To be considered for this scholarship, students must be active participants in the Shackouls Honors College, maintain a minimum 3.4 GPA, and participate in the Stewart Bridgforth Honors Scholars Program. Finalists who list MSU as their first choice will also be awarded an additional Housing Scholarship to cover the cost of on-campus, double-occupancy housing for the first through fourth year, with an option to live in College View, the university housing apartment community, for the third and fourth year. National Merit Scholarships are awarded in lieu of Academic Excellence and Colvard Future Leader Scholarships.

Mechanical Engineering Major Receives 2015 Goldwater Scholarship
Goldwater Scholarships cover the cost of tuition, fees, books and room and board up to a maximum of $7,500 per year. The Goldwater Scholarship honorable mention recipients are Cody FitzGerald '16, Stewart Laroche '16 and Gwyneth Welch '16.
