CSU, Chico Regional Continuing Education

In the last 14 years, CSU, Chico Continuing Education has administered and distributed $720,080 in Bernard Osher Foundation Reentry Scholarships to 139 Chico State students. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for the scholarship. Almost every scholarship available through Chico State requires a Letter of Recommendation and the university encourage all applicants to have a letter submitted on their behalf to be eligible for additional scholarships. The Osher Reentry Scholarship and the Crankstart Reentry Scholarship do NOT require a Letter of Recommendation. The Foundation seeks to improve quality of life through support for higher education and the arts, and provides post-secondary scholarship funding to colleges and universities across the nation, with special attention to reentry students.

Osher Crankstart Reentry Scholarships

Scholarship awards are typically split evenly between the fall and spring semesters of the year in which the award is made. A minimum of twenty CRS scholarships will be awarded annually in amounts up to $5,000 per recipient. Students enrolled exclusively in courses are not eligible for the reentry scholarships. DSU employees are not eligible for the Osher Reentry Endowed or the Crankstart Reentry Scholarship. Preference will be given to newly enrolled nontraditional students for the Crankstart Reentry Scholarship.

Society of Women Engineers

SWE Scholarships support women pursuing bachelor or graduate student programs. In 2020, SWE disbursed nearly 260 new and renewed scholarships valued at than $1,000,000! Boston Medical Center Employee Scholarship—This scholarship for benefits-eligible employees at Boston Medical Center reduces tuition by 50 percent. Boston University Women’s Guild Scholarships—These scholarships provide both aid and encouragement to women 30 and over enrolled in Boston University graduate programs. Pitts Scholarship—This scholarship is for graduate students pursuing a Master of Science degree in Administrative Studies, Applied Business Analytics, Enterprise Risk Management, Financial Management, Global Marketing Management, Insurance Management, Project Management, or Chain Management. Massachusetts Correction Academic Scholarship—Specifically for employees of the Massachusetts Correction , this scholarship covers 100 percent of tuition. Osher Reentry Scholarship—This scholarship is available to eligible adult students continuing the pursuit of their first bachelor’s degree after a significant hiatus in their studies.

Apparel, Merchandising, Interior Design, and Hospitality Management Department

A variety of scholarships exist for students in the Apparel, Retail Merchandising and Design program.
