These scholarships are presented by the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation. The scholarships are presented by the Morris K. The Goldwater Scholarship and Udall Scholarship are highly prestigious and substantial financial awards given to students in Science, Math or engineering and Environmental Science

Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit to students who are Sopho s or Juniors during the current academic year and who have excellent academic records and demonstrate interest in and potential for careers in Mathematics, the Natural Sciences, and Engineering. The scholarship covers eligible expenses for tuition, fees, books, room and board up to a maximum of $7,500 per academic year. Because environmental issues can be approached in a multidisciplinary way, the scholarship is offered to students from a broad range of disciplines such as Biology, and other natural sciences, natural resource management, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, History, and Public Policy. Wendell Smith Scholarship The Wendell Smith Endowed Scholarship is for non-credit student aid.

National Scholarships by Major Field of Interest

Qualifications for most competitive scholarships include: 3.7+ GPA, evidence of leadership, ambition, engagement in campus community activities, writing, speaking and critical thinking skills. Some scholarships may require research or policy experience. Arts Humanities students with a strong record in public service may also be eligible for the Truman Scholarship and the Samuel Huntington Public Service Award. Arts Humanities students with a passion for the environment may also be eligible for the Udall Scholarship. Qualifications for most competitive scholarships include: high GPA, evidence of leadership, ambition, engagement in campus and community activities, writing, speaking and critical thinking skills. Qualifications for many competitive scholarships include: 3.5+ GPA, evidence of leadership, ambition, engagement in campus community activities, writing, speaking and critical thinking skills.

Morris K. Udall Scholarship

Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college sopho s and juniors for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to the environment and Native American nations. The Scholarship can be used toward tuition, fees, books and supplies, and room and board up to $7,000.

Udall

Udall Scholarships provide up to $5,000, or the cost of fees, books, room and board, whichever is less, to sopho s who have demonstrated a strong academic record of an outstanding potential for leadership. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of two groups of students: those who study the environment or a related field and those with Native American or native Alaskan backgrounds with an interest in health care or tribal policy.
