One award is available to a GSAS student who intends to pursue a teaching career in history, literature, philosophy or classical and medieval languages. The program seeks young scholars who are interested in strengthening their dissertation research plans through exposure to the theories, literatures methods, and intellectual traditions of disciplines outside their own. The Council of American Overseas Research Centers Multi-Country Fellowship Program supports advanced regional or trans-regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied natural sciences for the students.S. doctoral candidates and scholars who have already earned their Ph.D. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and or cross-regional research.

Grants, Scholarships Study Opportunities in the Nordic Countries

According to the terms of the gift, priority will be given to graduate students who propose to conduct research projects on language and literature topics in Sweden, but awards can also be given for travel to all Nordic countries, and to UCB students in all academic fields. Scholarships will be awarded to a well merited doctoral candidate in Swedish language, literature and area studies. The Gudrun Gytel Fund was established in 1998 in order to provide qualified American university students with the opportunity to further their knowledge of Danish culture, history, language, literature, politics and society.

Program in Law and Public Affairs

In addition to considerable research and teaching experience, Dr. Lough worked for two years as a clinical social worker.

The REACH grant program seeks to promote and help fund promising research, scholarship, and creative arts in all areas of the University. The program is designed to provide funding to foster projects that can advance new areas of scholarly achievement. To promote innovative research, scholarship, and creative arts projects that will enhance UVM reputation as an incubator for cutting-edge ideas. Successful applicants will describe their long-term intellectual and professional goals and how the REACH grant will help them to achieve these objectives. In those disciplines where competitive extramural funding is available, to leverage institutional investment by providing the building blocks to support such applications. Previous current REACH awardees may re five years after the year of their REACH award.
