National Cancer Center funds a limited number of pre and post-doctoral fellowships to provide training and experience in molecular genetics and the cellular aspects of cancer biology and tumor immunology. ALS Association supports innovative research of high scientific merit in stem cell research, disease mechanisms, therapeutic approaches, model systems, and genetics. Cooley’s Anemia Foundation offers research fellowships to clinical and basic science investigators interested in research related to Cooley’s anemia. Immune Tolerance Network funds novel clinical trials and the development of tolerance assay or mechanistic studies. Walther Cancer Institute funds collaborative translational cancer research within or between WCI-affiliated institutions and investigators and the Institute’s basic, clinical, and behavioral research programs. Two-Year Post-Master’s Fellowship in AOD, Behavioral Health, and General Services

In the second year of the fellowship, Fellows will work primarily in General Services, where they will have the opportunity to provide individual group therapy, and initial consultations It is accredited by the American Psychological Association for the doctoral internship in Health Service Psychology and by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Presenting issues of clients range from the expected developmental concerns of college students to severe mental health diagnoses, including psychoses and personality disorders. The university seek high-energy individuals who are open to learning, able to balance multiple roles and responsibilities, receptive to feedback, and motivated to develop a wide range of skills that may be requested of a university-based mental health professional.

Work at clinical assistantships usually occurs two days a week, with the expectation that the students spend the majority of this time working in the respective settings. Missoula County Healthy Relationships Project: Clinical graduate students provide supervised individual assessment and psychotherapeutic services to survivors of intimate partner violence and facilitate psycho-educational groups in the Seeley Swan valley. Student Advocacy Resource Center :Clinical graduate students provide individual counseling services to SARC clients , provide on-call services to victims of sexual assault, assist with outreach programming and program development. Assignments are made based on teacher ratings, perceived competency and financial need The Indians Into Psychology Program offers scholarships to eligible Native American students accepted into the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Montana.

NBCC Minority Fellowship Program (Master’s Mental Health)

The National Board for Certified Counselors Minority Fellowship Program (NBCC MFP) program is made possible by grants awarded to NBCC by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The NBCC Foundation has been contracted by NBCC to administer 40 master’s-level counseling fellowships of $5,000 for mental health counseling students. Eligible applicants must demonstrate knowledge of and experience with racially and ethnically diverse populations, and commit to providing mental health services to underserved minority transition-age youth (16–25) populations. The NBCC MFP will help ensure that the behavioral health needs of all Americans are met, regardless of language or culture, thereby reducing health disparities and improving overall community health and well-being.

Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship Alcohol and Other Drugs Behavioral Health

The Postdoctoral Fellowship position requires both graduation from an APA-accredited doctoral program in Counseling or Clinical Psychology and completion of an APA-accredited doctoral internship. It is accredited by the American Psychological Association for the doctoral internship in Health Service Psychology and by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Presenting issues of clients range from the expected developmental concerns of college students to severe mental health diagnoses, including psychoses and personality disorders. The university Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology has been accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1973 and was one of the first university counseling services to earn this recognition.

Scholarships

Demonstrated financial need The June Braund Scholarship is designed for the student with interests in gerontological counseling. In addition to financial assistance, the recipient will be privileged to be mentored by Dr. Ron Braund, the scholarship donor, counseling entrepreneur and PSI Richmont alumnus. The Baird McClure Memorial Scholarship is for students in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program that have demonstrated financial need and provide evidence of Christian service. The Bridge Scholarship fund was developed to encourage and support diversity at Richmont and in the counseling profession. A brief essay on the importance of mental health counseling in diverse and minority populations The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of an assessment of financial need taken together with indicators of potential for effectiveness in ministry.

Scholarships Financial Aid

Funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration Bureau of Health Professionals, the loan provides master and doctoral students as much as $35,000 annually for a maximum of five years to cover tuition, fees, books and other reasonable education expenses. Psych-Mental Health DNP students learn alongside UC social work and mental health counseling graduate students to receive training and mentorship in integrated medication-assisted treatment and caring for underserved and at-risk populations.
