Smithsonian Fellowships and Internships

The Lemelson Center’s Arthur Molella Distinguished Fellowship supports the work of experienced authors and senior scholars from the history of technology, science and technology studies, business history, museum studies, STEAM education, or an allied field. The Smithsonian’s Fellowships in Museum Practice (FMP) program is an opportunity for mid and senior-level museum personnel, researchers and training providers to spend time at the Smithsonian researching a particular topic of interest that is relevant to their work and the museum profession.

Experiential Learning Opportunities

Partnering with NYC museums and libraries, Pratt Institute-Main offers students fellowships that support tuition scholarships in the amount of $5, 2 Fellows are required to carry-out two-semester practicum internships, requiring 120 hours per semester of on-site work at one of the partner institutions. The purpose of the LOD for Museums Fellowship is to provide support for an MSLIS student to investigate the application of Linked Open Data within a museum setting. The purpose of the LOD for Museums Fellowship is to provide support for a student in the MS Museums and Digital Culture program to investigate the application of Linked Open Data within a museum setting.

Graduate Student Marjorie Bontemps Awarded OVAC Fellowship

The fellowship is awarded to 12 applicants every two years who have a passion for art, a drive to excel in writing art, and the desire to become active and engaged participants in the current contemporary art dialogue.

U-M LSA History of Art

Two-year predoctoral fellowship for doctoral candidates wishing to pursue a curatorial career in an art museum. Boren Graduate Fellowships enable the students.S. graduate students to pursue specialization in area and language study or to add an international dimension to their education. The Institute of International Education administers the competition for many of the grants supporting graduate study and research abroad that are offered by the Fulbright Program in over 100 countries. Lurcy Foundation Fellowship for Study in France The grantee will receive a $25,000 stipend for study in France.

Dumbarton Oaks Junior Fellowships The Dumbarton Oaks awards grants ranging from $27,000-$47,000 for residential dissertation research in Byzantine or pre-Columbian studies or studies in landscape architecture. National Physical Science Consortium Fellowships The NPSC awards fellowships for graduate study in the physical sciences and related engineering fields for graduate study at participating NPSC institutions. Boren Fellowship — National Security Education Program The National Security Education Program Boren Fellowships provides a unique funding opportunity for the students.S. Students to study world regions critical to the students.S. interests.

Endowment Scholarships

The award is for currently enrolled students at NU who are either a science major in the College of Arts Sciences, or studying in the College of Education or the College of Business Administration. An annual award of at least $1,000 will be made to a College of Education Junior, Senior or Graduate student with special consideration given to those students specializing in elementary education. The purpose of the fund is to aid theatre studies majors for 4 years, or for the duration of studies. 50% awarded to an College of Business Administration student with need, 50% for graduate assistantships in the College of Business Administration. The fund is awarded to a Theatre Studies student who is attending the summer study abroad program in London, UK.

Fellowships and Grant Agencies in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

Marshall Scholarships finance 40 young Americans each year to study for a graduate degree in the United Kingdom. Typically offers 40 residential fellowships a year to support advanced study in all areas of the humanities and social sciences. Offers funding for graduate studies at Central European University in Budapest. It is the largest the students.S. private fellowship program in the history and social study of science. Fellowships, internships, and other awards are available, both Smithsonian-wide and through each individual museum and research center. The Center also offers up to two postdoctoral fellowships in Chinese Studies each year. Scholarships fund graduate study for aspiring future leaders in the government or nonprofit sectors.

Center for Jewish History • Fellowship Opportunities at the Center

The Center for Jewish History offers ten-month fellowships to doctoral candidates to support original research using the collections of the Center’s partners—American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum, and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. The award supports original research at the Center in the humanities, including but not limited to Jewish studies, Russian and East European studies, American studies and Germanic studies, as well as musicology, linguistics, anthropology, sociology and history. The CJH-Fordham Research Fellowship in Jewish-Christian Relations is made possible by funds from the Center for Jewish History, the Eugene Shvidler Gift Fund at Fordham University, and additional gift funds to Jewish Studies at Fordham University.
