Institute for the Social Sciences

The university will examine the relation between state policy, partisan politics, public health, economic wellbeing, and social equity to explore strategies to help governments slow the COVID-19 spread while balancing economic wellbeing and promoting equitable health access for minority groups. Immigration scholars from across the disciplines will come together in April 2020 for a one-day conference to examine the impact of post-1980 immigration laws and policies on the students.S. society and transnational immigrant communities. Bringing SALT back to Cornell for the special occasion of its 30th installment will reaffirm Cornell’s position as a leader in this rapidly evolving interdisciplinary field, and enhance the already vibrant community of scholars working on this topic here.

Institutional Aid

In support of this effort, the following scholarships are awarded based on a variety of criteria including, but not limited, to financial need, academic excellence, mission-based, and community involvement and service. The Fellowship in Clinical Psychopharmacology was created for candidates accepted into the M.S. Clinical Psychopharmacology program to recognize their pursuit of new and innovative training in the fields of psychology and integrated health care. The Mental and Behavioral Health Professionals Tuition Rate is determined for each fiscal year and remains in effect for that year. Changes in the Mental and Behavioral Health Professionals Tuition Rate will be closely tied to any subsequent change in TCSPP’s published tuition rates, and the rate does not to institutional fees or other charges.

He has performed studies of the status of health technology assessment in low-income countries, the cost-effectiveness and scale-up of rapid diagnostic tests for malaria, the economic and health impacts of unsafe abortion, the cost-effectiveness of increased access to contraception and reproductive health services, and incentives for seeking and receiving services to prevent HIV. Dr. Watanabe is an inaugural scholar in the National Academy of Medicine Emerging Leaders in Health and Medicine program. He also was the principal investigator for nearly 20 years of a National Institutes of Health Program Project Grant for investigating drug interactions. In the Mid 90s, Cyrus was a graduate student helping with the move to the H wing of the Health Science Building.

Arthur Zankel Urban Fellowship

Working closely with the classroom teachers, the Fellows will design a customized HRE program for students, drawing from activities on the topics of defining and understanding human rights, self-awareness and decision-making, financial independence, healthy relationships, and community-based resources to protect human rights. Interest in youth development, creative writing, health, STEM and or service learning is preferred. Pedagogically, the project draws upon the best of social constructivist theory, imaginative play, community sharing, and a motor development approach to teaching and learning.

External Fellowships

Smithsonian Institution Fellowships The Smithsonian Institution offers fellowships for research and study in the following fields: Animal behavior, ecology, and environmental science, including an emphasis on the tropics Anthropology, including archaeology, cultural anthropology, linguistics, and physical anthropology Astrophysics and astronomy Earth sciences and paleobiology Evolutionary and Systematic Biology Folklife History of science and technology History of art, especially American, contemporary, African, and Asian art, twentieth-century American crafts, and decorative arts Materials Research Molecular Biology Social and cultural History of the US. NSF Graduate Fellowships offer recognition and three years of support for advanced study to approximately 900 outstanding graduate students in the mathematical, physical, biological, engineering, and behavioral and social sciences, including the history of science and the philosophy of science, and to research-based Ph.D. degrees in science education.

Fellowships Scholarships

Health Policy Research Scholars is a leadership development opportunity for second-year full-time doctoral students from underrepresented populations and or disadvantaged backgrounds — students whose ethnicity, socioeconomic status, ability, and other factors allow them to bring unique and diverse perspectives to their research. The Health Policy Research Scholars Program includes scholars from disciplines as diverse as psychology, architecture, transportation, sociology, social welfare, environmental health and many others. External Deadline: This fellowship is developing a new national program center for Health Policy Research Scholars, which will oversee all aspects of the program. The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program awards three-year scholarships for graduate study in mathematical, physical, biological, engineering and behavioral and social sciences, including the history of science.

Financial Aid Scholarships

Lindh, the fund provides scholarship support for students who demonstrate academic excellence, are active in community service, and intend to dedicate their careers to the university country service. Additionally, graduate assistants are charged tuition at the in-state rate and have the option to participate in a subsidized health insurance program and other benefits. Additional grants and scholarships are available to support SPP students' experienced-based learning in non-profit, community-based, and governmental organizations. The Intelligence Analysis certificate fellowship requires a separate application, to be completed after applicant have applied for the program. Lindh Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for graduate students who demonstrate academic excellence, are active in community service, and intend to dedicate their careers to the university country service.
