Animal Science Scholarships

The recipient of many teaching awards, Dr. Hesby was most honored by the TAMU Former Student Association Award in Teaching and with the American Society of Animal Science National Award in Teaching. The award alternates between Animal Science and Consumer Sciences students and is awarded to an Animal Science student in academic years beginning with an odd number. The recipient of the Nold Family Scholarship in Animal Science shall be selected by the Animal Science Scholarship Committee. With this scholarship, Karl hopes to help other deserving students interested in the field of Animal Science.

Department Scholarships

To : Complete and submit Crop and Soil Sciences departmental scholarship application and essay of 1,000 words or less describing the range of testing services and educational resources offered through the AESL One or scholarship awarded to food science students with a demonstrated interest in confectionery science. Scholarship awarded to a food science student of good academic standing with an expressed interest in dairy food science. One or scholarship awarded to food science students based on academic achievement, college extra-curricular activities and a demonstrated desire to pursue a career in food science. Scholarship is awarded to a graduate or food science student of good academic standing with an expressed interest in the field of dairy food science.

Dr. James E. Corbin Companion Animal Biology Travel Scholarship

Students currently seeking an MS or PhD degree in Animal Sciences, with an emphasis in companion animal nutrition, are eligible for this award.

Financial Aid Scholarships

KELLEY ENDOWED ANIMAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP: $1,000 per year. Recipient must be a full-time graduate student in good standing majoring in agriculture, animal science, or a related field teaching assistant and or research assistant in the animal science program maintain an overall GPA of 3.0. ANN MORGAN CHRISTIAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT: $1,000 per year.

Scholarships Financial Aid

All incoming and current animal science students should complete the University of Arkansas general scholarship application and the Bumpers College general application. Every year the Animal Science awards approximately $55,000 to the university students. Primary interest in beef cattle and swine with desire to continue work in the field of animal science 3.00 or higher cumulative grade point average financial need.

Scholarships and Funding

The Indiana Veterinary Medical Association and Indiana Animal Health Foundation have established a scholarship fund for students at Purdue University. The priority deadlines for these scholarships are November 1st January 15th and April 1st Purdue The Morris Animal Foundation Veterinary Student Scholars Program is a highly competitive program that provides veterinary students the opportunity to become involved in mentored research that enhances the health and welfare of companion animals and wildlife. The Veterinary Student Scholars Program awards stipends up to $5,000 to veterinary students who are selected by their institution to participate in clinical or basic animal health and or welfare research.

Available Scholarships

Some of the scholarships are open to students pursuing any field of study, while others are open to students pursuing degrees in agriculture, food and nutrition, ag business, animal science, and journalism. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Animal Science departmental Poster Session.

Heritage Scholarship Program

Clevenger Memorial Scholarship, 1 award at $500 Awarded to a student in Animal Science with an interest in swine management. Marc Garavalia Memorial Award, 2 awards at $500 Presented to a top transfer student in Animal Science. Hancock McCabe Endowed Scholarship, 1 award at $500 Given to a junior or senior animal science major with an interest in beef cattle production. Strom Memorial Scholarship, 2 awards at $500 Awarded to a student majoring in Animal Science with an interest in Equine Science.

Scholarships Grants

The Animal Rescue Scholarship is available for students who go out of their way to futher serve animal welfare initiatives. At BD Food Safety, the Concordia University-Wisconsin is proud to offer a college scholarship program for two students in the process of pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science or Food Science degree. This $500 award will be given to a dedicated, focused student who has demonstrated an interest in skincare science and technology.
