Sustainable Biodiversity Fund

Funding from the SBF will enable Aaron to initiate a telemetry study of the movement of fish among conservation reserves to better understand the importance of connectivity for network-wide conservation success. SBF funding will allow Ellie to test whether variation in water availability sustains plant metabolic diversity in a successional old field in Ithaca, N.Y. Ben Johnson is a Ph.D. candidate in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, working in the labs of Jeremy Searle and Jed Sparks. Maya Lim is a graduate student in the Ecology Evolutionary Biology. Sahas Barve is a graduate student in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

Grad Student Funding Opportunities

In particular the conservation funds provides support for individual species conservation initiatives, recognize leaders in the field of species conservation, and elevate the importance of species in the conservation debate. Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Grants support research in North American fauna in any area of wildlife conservation or natural history Fellowships are given for the study of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Uyghur. The Nebraska Chapter of The Nature Conservancy awards $1,000 grants in support of graduate student research that enhances understanding of Great Plains ecosystems and their conservation. Lerner-Gray Grants for Marine Research support marine zoology Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Grants support research in North American fauna in any area of wildlife conservation or natural history.

Financial Aid

Bryan Holden Beach Turtle Watch Fellowship in Marine Biology was founded by the Holden Beach Turtle Watch Program to assist graduate students in Marine Biology interested in studying some aspect of sea turtle conservation.

Graduate Assistantships are offered to prospective and current Master students within the Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Sciences program at UH Hilo. The Hau‘oli Mau Loa Foundation and the Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Science Graduate Program at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo are pleased to announce the availability of three graduate assistantships for students dedicated to careers in conservation biology and environmental science in the state of Hawaiʻi. Scholarships College Of Science And Mathematics

This award will be restricted to students in the disciplines of biology, molecular biology, geoscience, physics, chemistry and biochemistry. An Award recipient must demonstrate a commitment to biology and molecular biology scholarship and research. Amount: Up to $800 Criteri Preferably a biology major. The Viola Whitney Pfleger Fund has been established to support a student with sincere interest in botany or in conservation efforts affecting the plant environment. The university encourage successful applicants to restore the funds to the Biology and Molecular Biology Department and the Dr. Al Stein Memorial Fund when they are financially able to, in order to help future students in need. An award recipient must demonstrate a commitment to biology and molecular biology scholarship and research.
