Current Training Grants
Objective of Grant: The main goal of this program is to address the national need for doctoral-trained scientists in biology and information sciences and provide quality teaching experiences for the graduate fellows with adequate instruction, supervision and instruction. Objective of grant: The overarching objective of the training program is to train an interdisciplinary cadre of talented investigators for careers in dental, oral and craniofacial science.

Margaret Ewing Endowment in Family Oral Histories: This fund provides a fellowship to a graduate student who is interested in pursuing research on family histories, preferably oral histories.

In 1998 he funded an endowment to the Georgia FFA Alumni Association to provide scholarships for students during apprentice teaching. This scholarship is awarded to support an aspiring agricultural education teacher. Two named scholarships are awarded: The Thomas H. Scholarship is awarded to a student with a demonstrated interest and involvement in dairy science. Selection should be based on financial need and a declared interest in beef or swine production. Award should be given to an student pursuing a course of study in the College. Selections shall be on the basis of merit, service, involvement in extracurricular activities such as student governance, leadership and financial need.

Scholarship General is designed to expose participating students to core Molecular, Cell, Developmental, Evolutionary, and Ecosystem Biology.
Over the last ten years, graduate students have been recipients of the American Society for Nutrition Proctor and Gamble Graduate Student Research Awards for Abstracts and three were also recipients of the Oral Competition awards. Two additional students have been both Abstract and Oral Competition winners of the ASN Emerging Leaders Award. Graduate students have also received distinguished research awards through the Society of Experimental Biology and Medicine , Allied Academic Conference , Society for Behavioral Medicine, and Nutrition Education Public Health Nutrition Division of the Society for Nutrition Education.
